Four MCS officers leave for Malaysia to participate in “Certificate in Human Development Plan Towards Inmates”

Four officers from Maldives Correctional Service has left for Malaysia to participate in the “Certificate in Human Development Plan Towards Inmates” training programme being held from 01st September 2015 to 28th September 2015.

The training programme was offered to Maldives Correctional Service by Correctional Academy of Malaysia Langkawi conducted under Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP).

The four officers participating in the programme are Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Shaheen Ali, Chief Prisons Ismail Naseer, Chief Prisons Officer Ibrahim Afeef and Chief Prisons Officer Ahmed Jadulla.

The programme provides the opportunity for the participants to gain knowledge of prison systems and management as well as gain exposure to rehabilitation programmes among participating countries. In addition, the participants will be sharing their experiences and challenges in conducting these programmes as well as visit Malaysian Prisons to gain first-hand knowledge of the Malaysian rehabilitative programmes.

Correctional Academy of Malaysia Langkawi is funding all expenses except travel expenses of two participants.
