Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has started screening prison officers, staff and inmates for tuberculosis (TB) in order to ensure their good health and a safe environment for all.
MCS is carrying out the screening programme in collaboration with Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Ministry of Health.
The programme is believed to help everyone screened increase the attention they pay to their health. It is also very convenient for all officers and staff to get the opportunity for screening while at work.
Officers and staff from Head Office and Male’ Prison are to be screened at first and will continue to the other prisons.
