Discussions held to conduct Juvenile Justice Program at Asseyri Prison

Discussions have been held at Maldives Correctional Service Head Office yesterday, about conducting Juvenile Justice Programs at the Prison for under 18 year old children who commit crime.

Today’s meeting was conducted to discuss about conducting a 5 day workshop to the officers at Asseyri Prison, to train officers to deal with and how to get the most appropriate solutions to issues facing youngsters in detention. Also, to include a Juvenile Justice program for new officers in their training.

Today’s meeting held at Maldives Correctional Service (MSC) head office was joined by Juvenile Justice Unit and Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST).

Although a final date to conduct the program is yet to be confirmed, it is scheduled to be conducted in a near future.
