British High Commission handovers the training modules and competency framework compiled to strengthen MCS’s operations

British High Commission officially handovers the training modules and competency framework compiled to strengthen the operations of MCS and develop officers and staff.

The High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, H.E Nicholas David Low handed over the training modules and competency framework to Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zareer at a special ceremony held today at MCS Headquarters. The Ceremony was also attended by the Prison Component Lead Dr Shane Bryans and senior management of MCS.

In addition, the High Commissoner handed over certificates to the participants of the “Transformational Leadership in Action Training” programme.

The training modules and competency framework was compiled by Tetra Tech International under the Security and Justice Project of the British High Commission. The Project aims to strengthen the management and operations of MCS while developing and building capacity of MCS officers and staff.

Under the project, a total of 23 workshops and trainings were conducted, gave 86 recommentations, eight assessments and 10 reports and compiled 12 trainings, such as Strategic Action Plan Workshop, leadership trainings, rehabilitation programmes, prison security, HR policies, procedures and appraisal system. A total of 270 officers and staff had participated in the trainings.
