Upon retirement of Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Uz Ibrahim Mohamed Didi on 04th December 2025, the President of Republic of Maldives Dr Mohamed Muizzu has today appointed Deputy Superintendent of Prisons Ahmed Sobah as the new Deputy Commissioner of Prisons.
Mr Ahmed Sobah holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration.
DCP Ahmed Sobah, who previously held the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Prisons; joined Maldives Correctional Service in 2004. He served in junior and senior positions as a civil employee for 11 years, and took the oath as a Prison Commissioned Officer in 2015 after undergoing the prison officer training. Following that, he has held key positions, such as the senior management as the Deputy Director of Male’ Prison, Head of Human Resources Section, Head of Budget and Finance Section and Financial Controller.
