Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) of Maldives Correctional Service has started the fourth Qari-level courses for inmates at Maafushi Prison.
ICOST has informed that the courses are being conducted in association with Institute for Quran and Sunna and are targeted for inmates who have an interest to teach Quran.
The two-month course is joined by a total of 42 inmates, 36 male and six female inmates.
ICOST has also stated that the Institute for Quran and Sunna has been providing a lot of assistance to courses conducted as parts of Maldives Correctional Service’s efforts to rehabilitate inmates for successful reintegration into society.
