Maldives Correctional Service has held a dinner night at Maafushi Prison to celebrate the anniversary of Maafushi Prison and Emergency Support Group (ESG).
A dinner night is held each year as part of the activities planned for anniversary celebrations.
Among many items, the night’s agenda also included awarding certificates to the 60 officers of Maafushi Prison and ESG with the most meticulous performance between 01st November 2014 and 31st October 2015. The certificates were awarded by Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Husham and Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal.
Speaking at the event, Chief Guest and Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Husham stated that our officers are courageous and hardworking officers who would not let any dangerous situations to occur.
The Commissioner also said that our work is successful due to the support and cooperation provided by the guardians; and that support and cooperation is needed in the future too.
A video presentation on past year’s accomplishments and highlights of Maafushi Prison and ESG was shown to all the attendees. The event concluded following a few entertainment items presented by sections of Maafushi Prison and ESG.
In addition to Maafushi’ Prison and ESG officers, the dinner night was attended by the previous Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan, the previous Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Asif, the Director of Maafushi Prison, Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Shaheen, Commanding Officer of ESG, Chief Prisons Officer Abdul Ghanee, Prison Directors and senior officials from Head Office.
