A trainee undergoing the mandatory Basic Training Course of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has passed away.
Late Aminath Nashwa Naseem, Asurumaage/ S. Hithadhoo (18 years), was undergoing swimming training around 11:30 this morning when it was noticed that she was having some abnormal reactions and was promptly removed from the sea. Due to lack of pulse, she was immediately transported to Maafushi Health Centre while being given CPR. She was brought to IGMH at the recommendation of the doctor and continued being given emergency treatment. The IGMH doctors confirmed her death at 14:02 hours.
MCS immediately contacted her family and Maldives Police Service following the incident.
MCS is currently organising Late Nashwa’s funeral arrangements with her family.
