State Minister Fayaz urges public to stop supplying items to inmates secretly

Minister of State for Home Affairs Deputy Commissioner of Police (retired) Mohamed Fayaz has urged the public to immediately 

stop supplying items to inmates secretly.  He also said that steps will be taken against those individuals if such an act is repeated.

The State Minister made the statement while speaking at the ceremony held at Iskandhar Koshi to celebrate 41st anniversary of Department of Penitentiary and Rehabilitation Services (DPRS).  

He further said that smuggle of prohibited items into prisons are possible due to carelessness of some such as few officers who are looking for a quick gratification. These officers are being careless towards their duty and if they do not cease such acts, strict measures will be taken against them. 

The ceremony was also joined by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan and Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Asif as well as a large number of officers and civil staff of DPRS.
