Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has yesterday commenced a programme to provide information on blood-borne infectious diseases for prison officers. The programme is being held at Maafushi Prison.
The purpose of the three-day programme is to create awareness of blood-borne infectious among prison officers and to teach preventive measures to be taken against such diseases. Participants of the programme include prison officers from Maafushi Prison, Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) and Emergency Support Group (ESG).
The programme is being conducted by staff from the Medical Section of Maldives Correctional Service.
