Inmate Creativity Exhibition organised by the Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has opened today. The Exhibition is being held at the National Art Gallery the 16th April 2015 to 18th April 2015.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr Mohamed Shainee who had also viewed the items on display after inaugurating the Exhibition.
The Exhibition was organised by to showcase the talent, produce and crafts of inmates and has over 800 items on display including vegetables, varieties of plants and different types of handicrafts.
As opposed to past exhibitions, this year’s Exhibition includes a lucky draw competition where three winners will be chosen for the three days of the Exhibition; their prizes being a return ticket to Colombo sponsored by Short Throw Maldives, DPRS Cooperative Society and Turkish Airlines.
The Exhibition also included the awarding of cash prizes and certificates for the winners of the art competition organised by the Anti-Corruption Commission for the inmates. The cash prizes and certificates were awarded by the President of Anti-Corruption Commission Mr Hassan Luthfee.
The Exhibition will be open today and tomorrow from 14:00 to 18:00 and 20:00 to 22:00 hrs while it will be open on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 18:00 hrs. People can visit the Exhibition during these times and purchase their preferred items from the display.
