Malaysia’s Commissioner General of Prisons Dato’ Sri Hj. Zulkifli bin Omar has today met the Minister of Home Affairs Honourable Umar Naseer at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The main area of discussion at the meeting were the operation of prison systems of the two countries and the challenges faced in running it. Moreover, the participants also discussed about the cooperation of both countries in achieving goals.
In addition to the Malaysia’s Commissioner General of Prisons, the meeting was also joined by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan and Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal.
The Commissioner General of Prisons is currently in Maldives on a two-day visit.
Malaysia Prison Department maintains a close relationship towards Maldives Correctional Service and has provided numerous training opportunities for prison officers under the “Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP)”.
