Maldives Correctional Service wishes a very Happy Children’s Day to all children.
Children are a blessing to parents and the society. The way parents raise their children and the education provided from preschool years is a very solid foundation for their future. As they grow up, this foundation plays a very important role in shaping their lives and in choosing the direction they wish to go. However the importance given to the preschool education in this society is insufficient and it is my wish to provide a strong education to children beginning from preschool-level. In that regard, it is mandatory to have specialised and qualified as well as experienced and mature teachers to achieve that goal.
Usually children who make wrong choices and commit crime are those who lack sufficient love and upbringing from parents and family as well as without the strong foundation that should be laid during formative years. Children who grow up with parent’s nurturing love and strong educational foundation laid during the formative years move on to become successful in the community and achieve great things and in turn brighten the future of the country.
It is my desire that everyone will work to prevent the future of this country from getting dark; and to protect the rights of children and work to provide children the love, respect and the strong foundation they should have.
