Parliament Member for Fuvahmulah-Central constituency Honourable Ali Fazaad has urged Prison Officers to work with sincerity, honesty and integrity.
The Honourable MP had made the comment while speaking as the chief guest at the ceremony held today at Maafushi Prison to celebrate Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS)’s fourth anniversary and to award certificates to graduates of three courses.
“We are 100 per cent Muslims and honesty is very much advocated in the religion as well. So Prison Officers and each and every person in the society should be pure, honest and have integrity,” said Honourable Ali Fazaad. He also said that while we believe that the offenders who are sent to prisons should reintegrate back to the society after they complete their sentences, the hard work of ICOST in teaching them skills and facilitating jobs for them is noteworthy.
He further noted the patience of the Prison Officers and said to use the chance to serve the country properly and it should be a work jointly done by everyone.
