Maldives Correctional Service holds parade at Himmafushi as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of Maldivian Independence

Maldives Correctional Service has today held a parade at Himmafushi as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of Maldivian Independence.

The parade began from Asseyri Prison and marched through the main road of Himmafushi to the harbour area. The parade had stopped in two places, with the band playing a drum solo during the stops.

It was the second time Maldives Correctional Service has held a parade, the first one was held yesterday at Maafushi. Maldives Correctional Service had also participated in the official parade and event held on 31st July 2015 to mark the golden jubilee of Maldivian Independence. MCS parade had received a good response from the public. 80 prison officers had participated in the parade.

Maldives Correctional Service is expanding its involvement in the community-based and nationwide activities.
