Maldives Correctional Service in association with Quran and Sunnah has today started two Quran level courses for inmates at Maafushi Prison.
28 inmates are participating in the two-month Qari Level 1 course while four-month Qari Level 2 Course will go on with 16 inmates.
ICOST said that the courses are conducted for inmates with an interest to teaching Quran.
Institute for Quran and Sunnah has been providing a lot of assistance to courses conducted as parts of Maldives Correctional Service’s efforts to rehabilitate inmates for successful reintegration into society. Some of the courses being conducted include “Hifz” (byhearting the Holy Quran) classes and Basic Quran course.
The Parliament member of Vili-Maafannu constituency Mr Ahmed Nihan Hussain had generously donated funds to carry out a Quran course for the inmates.
