The Maafushi Prison of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has held a special event today for the female inmates and remanded persons to mark the International Women’s Day.
Today’s event started at 9am with a friendly volleyball match. Next on agenda was a breakfast prepared especially for the participants. In addition, a painting activity representing this year’s Women’s Day’s theme is scheduled for this week.
The activities were conducted separately for the 19 inmates and 11 remanded persons who joined the event.
The Female Unit of Maafushi Prison holds such activities every year to celebrate the Women’s Day.
