MCS implements a system to conveniently manage financial transactions of inmates and remanded persons

Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has implemented today the “Prisoner Accounts Management System (PAMS)” to conveniently manage financial transactions of inmates and remanded persons.

PAMS enables MCS to manage the funds sent by families to inmates and remanded persons every months as the allowances of working inmates. It also helps to manage various purchases made by inmates and remanded persons at prisons.

PAMS is the accounts-related module of Total Offender Management System (ATOMS). While ATOMS maintain all records of inmates and remanded, PAMS maintain all the financial records.

The system helps to connect all prisons to the Head Office; which would result in the use of a single database for all records related to inmates and remanded persons, increase the speed of services while reducing the waste of resources such as paper and duplicate work. It will also help to improve performance and increase accountability.

ATOMS and PAMS were designed by the technical staff of Information Technology Section of MCS.
