Maldives Correctional Service terminates three prison officers who tested positive for drugs

Maldives Correctional Service has terminated three prison officers who tested positive for drugs while on duty.

The three prison officers were noticed due to their suspect behaviour and asked to provide urine sample to test for drug use. As all three officers tested positive, they were terminated under the Clause (3) of Section (45) of the Employment Regulations of Maldives Correctional Service.

The decision to terminate the officers was taken by the Disciplinary Board of the Service after reviewing their case.
