Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Husham has yesterday met with the prison officers participating in the Emergency Support Group’s Refresher Training Course at Asseyri Prison.
Addressing the 13 participants from Asseyri Prison, the Commissioner said that the ESG Officers were combat-oriented officers with suitable training and uniforms tasked with very important responsibilities. He further said that these responsibilities can only be carried out after going through the rigorous training programmes and urged all participants to go ahead with the training with these points in mind.
The Commissioner also said that ESG officers should be an example to other officers with their model behaviour and thinking; and thanked the senior members of ESG as well as officers for their initiative and hard work to improve the security measures at the prisons.
The seven-day training programme is being conducted by ESG officers at Asseyri Prison in collaboration with their counterparts at Maafushi Prison.
