Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has held a two-day workshop at Asseyri Prison to create awarenesson human rights. The workshop, titled “Training for Prison Officers”, was held from 23 to 24 May 2016.
The workshop was conducted under HRCM’s efforts to protect, maintain and promote human rights as per the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and Islamic Shari’a.
20 prison officers from various sections of Asseyri Prison participated in the workshop.
The workshop is held every year and included information on the human rights of women, children, prison officers and inmates.
