Asseyri Prison of Maldives Correctional Service has yesterday organised a one-day football tournament for officers of all sections at the Prison.
The tournament, which was held to build camaraderie and close relations between the prison officers, were carried out by dividing the teams into two groups. The two teams with the highest points from each group competed at the semi-finals and the two teams who won the semis headed on to the finals.
Shift Charlie is the champions of the tournament after beating Shift Charlie-B at the finals.
Shift Alpha had moved on to the finals after winning all the three matches they played and beating Shift Charlie-B with a score of 7:3 at the semi-finals. Shift Delta-B had headed to the finals after winning two of the three matches they played and winning the semi-finals with a score of 5:3.
The tournament has been held at Asseyri Prison on differing days every year.
