Police Custodial officials have today met with the Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan at the Head Office of MaldivesCorrectional Service (MCS).
The main points for discussion at the meeting were improving the relations between Police Officers and Prison Officers and working jointly to achieve tasks. In addition, the progress on establishing a Juvenile Remand Centre was also reviewed.
The Commissioner described the work of Police Custodial and MCS as very much linked to each other it was not sufficient for both institutions to just provide cooperation and assistance.
On behalf of the Maldives Police Service, the meeting was attended by Chief Superintendent of Police Hamdhoon Rasheed, Chief Inspector of Police Ahmed Nafiz, Inspector of Police Mohamed Shareef and Sub-Inspector of Police Ahmed Ramzee.
Maldives Correctional Service was represented by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan, Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal, Superintendent of Prisons Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Shaheen Ali, Deputy Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Tholaal and Deputy Superintendent of Prisons Ibrahim Nashid.
