Final preparations underway for tree-planting event at Hulhumale’ phase 2 area under Fehivehi Programme

Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has informed that the preparations for the record-breaking tree-planting event under Fehivehi programme is almost complete. The event is to be carried out jointly with Hulhumale’ Development Corporation (HDC) at the Hulhumale’ phase two area.

The event includes the planting of 13,000 trees. MCS has informed that the planting holes have already been dug and the soil has been sprayed with fertilizers and water in preparation for the planting. Currently the tents are being put up in the area while trees are being put next to the holes for ceremony.

The work is being carried out with a lot of hard work of all officers from MCS, especially the officers of Hulhumale’ Detention Centre.

MCS notes the patriotic spirit, teamwork and energy of the officers involved in the event while the officers have confessed that the work has proven to be very motivating for them.

The ceremony will be held at 4 pm today at the Hulhumale’ phase two area.
