Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has decided to clean the road leading to Asseyri Prison at K. Himmafushi under the Fehivehi Programme. The cleaning event scheduled for Saturday 12th September 2015, also include the clean-up and levelling of other roads and areas of Himmafushi.
The cleaning event will be carried out by officers and staff from Asseyri Prison, Head Office, Male’ Prison and Hulhumale’ Detention Centre as well as inmates from Asseyri Prison.
MCS had announced during the tree-planting event at Hulhumale’ that more community programmes such as “Fehivehi” will be carried out by MCS in future. The tree-planting event was carried out at Hulhumale’ phase two area.
Though MCS officers mainly work within prisons, MCS is now prioritising active involvement in community activities and Fehivehi is such a programme.
The Himmafushi clean-up event is the second event planned under Fehivehi programme.
