A friendly bashi match played at Maafushi Prison

A friendly bashi match has been played today between the male and female officers of Maafushi Prison.

The spirited match played at 8:30 this morning was the first activity planned for the celebration of Maafushi Prison’s 17th anniversary. The match was played at the volleyball court of the Prison.

The match was inaugurated by chief guest, Deputy Commander of Emergency Support Group (ESG) Chief Prisons Officer Abdul Wahab.

Speaking on behalf of the anniversary committee, Senior Prisons Officer Shakeel Shareef said it was a vigorous match and has played a part in further improving the relations between Maafushi Prison officers and ESG Officers. He also thanked the support and assistant provided by ESG at all such events.

The match was won by the male officer’s team, despite not playing such a match in a long while.

As part of the anniversary celebration events, a friendly football match is to be played today at 4 pm between Maafushi Prison officers and ESG.
