Maldives Correctional Service has held a flag hoisting ceremony at midnight at Maafushi Prison to start the celebrations of the Prison’s 17th anniversary.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Maafushi Prison’s Director Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Shaheen while the Commander of the ceremony was Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Salman Rasheed.
The ceremony included the recitation of a special prayer lead by Prisons Staff Sergeant Hussain Imran, who also led the solemn oath.
The ceremony was attended by several Maafushi Prison officers, ESG officers as well as government officials and Councillors of Maafushi.
The ceremony was concluded with the cutting of the special cake by Maafushi Prison’s Director Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Shaheen.
