An inmate from Hulhumale’ Prison of the Maldives Correctional Service (MCS), Ibrahim Suhail (53 years old), Dhafthar No. 439, has passed away this morning.
Ibrahim Suhail had been receiving inpatient treatment at IGMH for a week following a decline in his health. He passed away at approximately 09:05 hrs due to pneumonia while undergoing treatment at the Hospital.
It is noted that he had been receiving ongoing medical care since suffering a stroke in 2025.
Following his passing, Maldives Police Service, the family of the deceased, the Inspector of Correctional Service, the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives and National Integrity Commission was notified of the occurrence.
