MCS holds graduation ceremony for the 24th batch of the Basic Training Programme

Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has held the graduation ceremony for the sixth batch of the “Certificate 3 in Custodial Management and Security” programme last night at Maafushi Prison. It is also the 24th batch of the Basic Training Programme.

The ceremony was honoured by Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Shaheen Ali, while Director of Maafushi Prison Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Ahmed Jaadullah and senior management also joined the ceremony. The ceremony was held in par with HPA regulations.

24 of the 25 recruits that joined the three-month course successfully completed the programme.

Certificates to the graduates were handed over by Maafushi Prison’s Director ASP Ahmed Jaadulla, Deputy Director ASP Abdulla Ameen, ASP Abdul Ghanee and CPO Hussain Rilwan.

The ceremony also included a video presentation of the course. Private Saneem Shamail was chosen as the “Fittest Officer” of the course while the “Best All Round” title went to Private Ahmed Naail.

The training programme is conducted by Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) for new recruits to practically and academically teach them prison-related work while inducting them to the prison environment. The training programme also aim to instill good conduct, ethics and etiquette among recruits.
