Emergency Support Group (ESG) of Maldives Correctional Service and Special Operation Police has held a combined Refresher Training Programme at Maafushi Prison.
The main areas covered in the two-day training were restraining techniques, self-defense techniques, restraints and baton wielding techniques while discipline classes were conducted especially for ESG instructors.
Commanding Officer of ESG Chief Prisons Officer Abdul Ghanee said that it was a very important training which would help ESG officers in executing their duties of keeping the prisons safe and peaceful. He also said that further trainings will be held in future.
A total of 52 ESG officers and eight SO Police Officers took part in the training.
