Prison Club (PRC) of Maldives Correctional Service has last night held a special function to draw lots for the “PRC Football Tournament 2017”. The function was held at Himmafushi School.
The chief guest of the function was Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan.
The purposes of the Tournament, scheduled to commence on 15th September 2017; are to create friendliness and sports spirit among officers and staff of Male’ Prison, Hulhumale’ Detention Centre and Head Office; to engage them in sports activities and to provide the opportunity for football players to show their skill. In addition, the tournament will also help to maintain the mental and physical health of staff and officers.
A total of five teams are participating in the Tournament, Maafushi Prison, Asseyri Prison, Male’ Prison, Team HQ and ESG.
This is the first-ever tournament PRC is organising at Himmafushi.
