Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan has yesterday met with the directors of prisons regarding the upcoming local council elections.
The meeting was held at the Head Office of Maldives Correctional Service.
The purpose of the meeting is to give an operational briefing to the directors of prisons, to check if there are any unresolved issues regarding the election and to brief about placing the prisons on alert status.
The meeting was also joined by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal.
