Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan has yesterday visited Ahuluveri Marukaz of Maldives Correctional Service, located at K. Thilafushi.
During the visit, CP Shihan inspected the progress of the work being carried out at the Marukaz by inmates as well as the status of ongoing projects.
Ahuluveri Marukaz plays a vital role in MCS’s efforts to rehabilitate inmates and reform them into good citizens for their release back into the society. The fourth phase of the inmate “Rehabilitation Framework” is also carried out at Ahuluveri Marukaz.
Ahuluveri Marukaz collaborates with companies to provide allowance-based work for inmates, such as building cement blocks for projects of Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) and other such projects of collaborating companies.
