Team Pink has today won the “HQ Women’s Futsal Tournament 2016” held among the female staff and officers of Head Office and Male’ Prison.
The one-day tournament was held at Qiyasuddeen School ground. The purpose of the tournament is foster friendship and sports spirit among female staff and officers of Head Office and Male’ Prison as well as encourage participation in sports activities to stay healthy both physically and mentally.
A total of four teams participated in the tournament; Team Red, Team Blue, Team Pink and Team Green.
All four teams played against each other and the two teams with the most points moved on to the finals. Team Pink won the tournament by beating Team Green with a score of 1:0. The winning goal was scored by Team Pink’s captain, Shahuma Mohamed Waheed.
Following the final match, certificates and trophies were handed over to the teams and the five players chosen as the best players of the tournament. Commissioner of Prison Ahmed Shihan handed over the trophies and medals to the winning and runner-up teams, while the certificates to players who won the titles were handed out by Assistant Manager of Gizmo, Hassan Rizvee.
The main sponsor of the tournament was Prison Co-operative Society, with Gizmo and Tug Service Marine Pvt Ltd as co-sponsors.
