An inmate sentenced to death penalty has tonight attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself around 8:30 pm.
The inmate was rushed to Maafushi Health Centre immediately for medical assistance and after evaluating him, the doctor has informed that the inmate has not suffered any damage.
The inmate has been returned to Maafushi Prison following his release from the doctor.
