Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan has yesterday visited the reclaimed land site of Himmafushi.
The K. Himmafushi land reclamation project has to date seen the reclamation of 21.6 hectares of land. This makes the total land area of Himmafushi as 54.6 hectares. Currently, an area of 890 metres is undergoing large rock installation.
The reclamation project will make it easier to provide housing for the residents of Himmafushi by allocating land and flats. It will also be beneficial for the island.
The Commissioner had visited the site during a visit to Asseyri Prison. The visit was also joined by Deputy Commissioner of Prison Hassan Zilaal.
