Maldives Correctional Service has initiated an awareness programme yesterday to educated prison officers and staff on the law and policies.
The informative programme was conducted by Ethics and Professional Standards in association with the Legal Section with the aim to educate officers and staff on the Act 14/2013 the Prison and Parole Act and the policies drafted under the said Act.
The sessions will cover the introduction of the Act and policies, what they are and their purpose, the rights awarded to the officers and staff and how to work to get their rights and so forth.
The first session of the programme was attended by 15 officers from the Male’ Prison.
