The new accommodation block built for officers of Male’ Prison has been opened by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan yesterday at Male’ Prison’s Maahefun.
The Director of Male’ Prison, Superintendent of Prisons Moosa Anwar said the two-storey accommodation block was built on the land of Remand Centre to address the space limitation-issue currently facing prison officers. He also said that the new accommodation block houses a mess room and will be very convenient for officers. SP Moosa Anwar further said that they can now easily accommodate officers who come from other prisons.
The event was attended by commissioned officers and prison officers of senior ranks.
