Maafushi Prison of Maldives Correctional Service has kicked off the “Ramazan Futsal Cup 2016” last night. The first match of the tournament was won by Offender Sports.
The Ramazan Futsal Cup 2016 was inaugurated by the Director of Maafushi Prison, Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Salman Rasheed.
While speaking at the inauguration ceremony, ASP Salman Rasheed said that all officers should work together to make the Ramazan Futsal Cup a success and also noted and thanked ICOST and ESG for their assistance in organising the tournament.
He further urged all officers to b model officers and that playing in sports spirit will further make it a more vigourous tournament.
Offender Sports won the first match by defeating Unit Management Juniors with a score of 4:3, and the man-of-the-match was Offender Sports Mohamed Muslih.
Two matches are set to be played tonight. The first match to be played tonight is Unit Management vs Logistics, while the second match to be played is Ivory vs ICOST.
A total of 11 teams are participating in the tournament.
