Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has today commenced a workshop in collaboration with Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) at Maafushi Prison to create awareness on human rights.
The workshop, titled “Training for Prison Officers”, is being held from 01st to 02nd June 2016.
The workshop is being conducted under HRCM’s efforts to protect, maintain and promote human rights as per the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and Islamic Shari’a.
19 prison officers from various sections of Maafushi Prison are participating in the workshop.
The workshop has been held every year since 2014 and includes information on the human rights of women, children, prison officers and inmates
