Maldives Correctional Service has instructed to use ranks of Commissioned Officers while sharing information or addressing letters to Commissioned Officer.
The instruction was made via the circular no. 167-ES/CIR/2016/2 dated 18th May 2016.
The Circular states that ranks of the Commissioned Officers must be used by Maldives Correctional Service while sharing information with other government institutions or various bodies and while representing Maldives Correctional Service through letters and other documents. It also states that the ranks are to be used while addressing letters and other documents to the Commissioned Officers (Chief Prisons Officer and above). For example: Superintendent of Prisons Ahmed Ali. In addition, if the officer has specialised in a certain field, the title should be stated after the rank of the officer. For example: Superintendent of Prisons Dr. Ahmed Ali.
