Maldives Correctional Service has today cancelled the 30-day extension granted to Former President Mr Mohamed Nasheed’s medical leave.
Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Husham announced the decision at a press conference held at the Head Office of Maldives Correctional Service. The Head of Offender Services Management Superintendent Ibrahim Mohamed Didi and Senior Legal Officer Uz Abdulla Zahir also joined the conference.
The Commissioner said that Mr Mohamed Nasheed was given the leave-extension based on the medical documents he provided stating that he needed to undergo a necessary surgery. He further said that the leave-extension was cancelled based on the comments of Mr Nasheed’s legal team stating that no surgery has been scheduled for the Former President.
