Maafushi Prison and Emergency Support Officers (ESG) have started a blood donation programme today at Maafushi Prison’s lecture hall to celebrate their anniversaries.
The programme is being carried out by Maafushi Prison and ESG in association with Maldivian Blood Service.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal said that the programme is an initiative of Maafushi Prison and ESG and is a very important programme. He also said that the need for blood is a difficulty many have to face and for Maldives Correctional Service to contribute to the cause is a step up for MCS as well and will work to carry out similar programmes in future.
In addition, Deputy Commissioner thanked all the participants of the programme on behalf of Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Husham and himself.
This is the second blood donation event organised by Maafushi Prison.
