Maafushi Prison and Emergency Support Officers (ESG) have held a blood donation event yesterday under the name “My blood to survive” at K. Maafushi.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal.
Maafushi Prison has informed that the blood donation event was held as part of the activities planned to celebrate the Prison and ESG’s anniversaries and was carried out in association with Maldivian Blood Service. The event was also open to public participation.
Maafushi Prison’s anniversary is 01st November while ESG’s anniversary falls on the 17th of November.
Speaking on behalf of the event organisers, Senior Prisons Officer Ali Maniu said that 111 people had participated in the blood donation.
This is the second blood donation event organised by Maafushi Prison.
