The annual football tournament organised by Maldives Correctional Service for inmates at Asseyri Prison has concluded yesterday.
The winner of the tournament was Team Green, who beat Team Orange with a score of 4:2.
The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Superintendent of Prisons Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, who also awarded the champion’s cup and certificates for to notable players. The ceremony was also attended by Commissioned Officers of Maldives Correctional Service, Asseyri Prison Officers and inmates.
The Tournament, which commenced on Friday, was organised to assess the behavioural and mental health of the inmates at Asseyri Prison as part of MCS efforts to rehabilitate inmates for successful reintegration into society.
A total of six teams divided into two groups competed in this year’s Tournament. The Tournament has been held every year since 2012.
