Prison Officers of Asseyri Prison has cleaned the reef and jetty area of Himmafushi today as part of the Fehivehi Programme.
The clean-up was conducted from 8am to 12pm and falls in line with the anniversary of Asseyri Prison and the Unity Day. The clean-up also included pruning of trees for the convenience of vehicles and pedestrians as well as collection of garbage in the area.
Asseyri Prison noted that the programme was joined by Himmafushi School, locals, private companies; namely Cyprea and IBC.
On behalf of Asseyri Prison and officers, Director of Asseyri Prison Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Hussain had thanked all those who participated for their support.
The officers of Asseyri Prison had also cleaned the streets of Himmafushi on 16th December 2015 as part of the Fehivehi programme.
