Commissioner of Prisons Abdulla Munaz has today met with a team from Juvenile Justice Unit regarding at the Head Office of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS).
The main discussion points for the meeting included the assistance from Juvenile Justice Unit in organizing and carryout of programmes for juveniles that would help to reform them by changing their behaviour and thinking as well as training programmes for prison officers to create a better awareness of how to treat the juveniles. Currently the juvenile unit is housed at Asseyri Prison.
The meeting was also joined by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Uz Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, Chief Prison Officer Ahmed Farish Ali from Asseyri Prison while the Team from Juvenile Justice Unit included Director Ms Fathimath Roona and Social Services Worker Shaufa Saleem.
