A meeting has been held today at Asseyri Prison to discuss ways to improve and strengthen current rehabilitation programmes of the Prison.
The discussions were joined by Commissioner of Prisons Abdulla Munaz, Director and Deputy Director of Asseyri Prison, SP Mohamed Shaheen Ali and SP Mohamed Hussain.
The discussion points include what steps to be taken to re-formulate current rehabilitation programmes to make it most productive and beneficial for participating inmates. In addition, the participant members also discussed revamping the programme to encourage convicts who get released after completing the programme and their time to emphasise the importance of refraining from reoffending and subsequently landing back in prison.
