Firefighting classes held for prison officers of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has concluded. The classes were carried out by Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) in collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Service of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The classes were conducted at the training ground of Maafushi Prison. Some of the points covered in the classes included teaching participants the skills of what to do in case of big fires at the prison and creating awareness regarding fires.
These classes are conducted for officers of Emergency Support Group (ESG) of MCS and were conducted both practically and in theory. The classes also included teaching skills of using fire pump, drills and commands, how to set up pipes, different ways of dealing with fires as well as the safest way of putting out fires.
