Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has this morning met with the officials from the Education Department of Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM).
The meeting was held at the HRCM office.
The main topic of discussion for the meeting was the inclusion of HRCM components to ICOST syllabuses.
Currently, there are HRCM modules included in several courses conducted by ICOST while various human rights-related programmes have been conducted for prison officers in the past.
On behalf of HRCM, the meeting was joined by Senior Education Officer Aishath Shifana, Assistant Education Officer Fathimath Ahmed while Maldives Correctional Service was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal, Executive Director of ICOST, CPO Ahmed Riza, ICOST’s Head of Faculty of Prison Management and Leadership, SPO Ahmed Faris Ali and Head of Faculty of Education Programmes, FCPO Mohamed Nishwan.
